Landscapes Up The Hill

The entrance to the history. Might had soldiers guarding the doors at those days with canons ready to charge on the top of it.

Nandi Hills is picturesque. With its beautiful landscape alongside the rich history of the majestic rulers of Mysore, is a rich and thick blend. The paths I walked were once the path ways for the soldiers, horses and canons.

Tippu’s summer residence is a lodge, which was completed in the year 1791. The construction of this lodge was started by Hyder Ali and was completed by Tippu Sultan. This lodge was used by the Sultan for taking rest, whenever he comes for hunting at Nandi Hills. Presently this is under the control of Central Archaeological Department.

I was wondering, why the summer palace of a ruler is too small. And got the answer there itself. This place wasn't specifically for his vacation. Was kind of a hide out. Who will think about luxury when his life is at stake.

There was a soldier though, who made sure that no one enters the fort with out a ticket.

Tipu's Summer Palace and Fort - During the Ganga period, the Chikkaballapur chieftains built a fort. Tippu strengthened it further and also build a rest house. This used to be Tippus summer bungalow.

A heavy scratch on the history. Seems like many people tried to own this door. Is something interesting inside?

I was excited when heard about the plan on the group photo walk. There is a large number of people who are really interested for it and I was excited to meet the people of similar interest. And last Saturday I joined the team for the Nandi Hills Photo Walk. Started at 4:30 AM and reached the destination by 6:00 AM.

There was a large crowd to visit the place. To get the tickets for the team, it took half and hour. Such a long queue.

Everyone was equipped with their favorite gadgets and trekked up the hill for the exciting journey of that day. People who were interested in the Landscape photography went to the view points on the top. I joined the bird lovers and followed their trail.

Through the lush green forrest we trekked up hill, listening to the sweet voice of the birds around, trying to trace them and capture their existence.

The climate was fantastic. With the misty clouds around, the violent chilled wind basing on to us, the serenity on the path and greenery that we wondered upon. What a feeling it was. Really wanted to have another photo walk with the team.

Stones pathways are the guide when you trek up the hill. There are paths to the left and to the right. Take it if you dare to go forward. But these areas can be the good view points for the bird photographers.
